My partner and I would like to hear from people living in motor homes full time. ?
What are the pros and cons of living in a motor home full time? we would like to do it in the UK and Europe. Is there a forum on-line that we could go on?

- I live in the US, the Pacific Northwest, in Washington State. A couple of years ago, a friend and I took a year and toured the area, which turned into the whole upper left quarter of the lower 48. The local Barnes and Noble had a whole range of magazines and books on doing this kind of touring. And, they had a club, a discussion group really, which met once a week about this subject. It was sitting in on one of these club meetings which decided my friend and I on taking the trip. We used a 20 foot entirely self contained motor home. We only had one problem which we felt was major, utilities. The holding tank was a chore and a half to empty and maintain. The continuous use of the fittings caused them to break resulting in replacement 6 times during the year. We literally wore out the disconnect fittings through use. They were NOT constructed for daily use. Water was no problem as everyone has a common water hose available to fill the water tank. Our little refrigerator was a combined gas/electric, able to use either as a power source and was easily the most expensive piece of gear we had. An 8 cubic foot unit, used, cost $600, new was over $1000. The original stove was a simple alcohol stove, similar to those used on sailboats. We dumped the alcohol stove after a month and switched to propane for the stove so not only did we keep the beer cold with gas, we cooked with it as well. We carried an electrical generator, but rarely used it. We used mantle style kerosene lamps for light at first but added built-in propane style mantle lamps later. Eventually, almost everything was propane, except for engine fuel to drive. Retrofitting piecemeal as we did was quite difficult. It would have been much easier to have converted everything at once to propane before we hit the road. I have no idea what you will find in Europe, but I suspect it will be similar to what my friend and I found here, lots of really nice, friendly people, sharing a common traveling experience. My friend had bought the motorhome with the intention of selling it when we finally returned home. Instead he sold his house and now lives full time in a local camp ground/park which caters to travelers.
