Small Camping Trailers

what kind of power do you need to pull a small camping trailer?

  1. There should be a rating on the inside of your drivers door telling you what the vehicle is rated for as far as towing weight. The camper should have a plate on the side or rear saying dry weight. Dry weight is the trailer itself. It does NOT include food, clothing, or any other thing you put in the camper.
  2. Well it depends on the vehicle and the weight of the trailer. Also depends on what type of hitch the car can accomodate as well as the amount of weight said hitch can carry in both tongue weight and towing weight. No specifics are going to leave you with a non-specific answer.
  3. Any half-ton truck with a V8 engine in it should be sufficient to pull a small camping trailer.
