How do I tell if my trailer can take the weight?

I have a trailer that was an old camper. I want to build a small house on top of it. The house will end up weighting 6000 pounds. How do I know if the tandem axles can take the weight? Is there a sticker somewhere? I do not know what kind of camper was on the frame.

1. Most all tandem axle trailers can handle around 16,000 pounds but there should be some type of plate or engraving on the front.......
2. Being as how it's a tandem axle trailer to begin with then I'd assume it was meant to carry something heavier than a washing machine. 6000 pounds shouldn't be a problem.
